Look at these boys! I LOVE THEM SO STINK'N MUCH!
Luke's first day of Kindergarten!!!!! He's been ready for a long time for this....I haven't as much. I mean ALL DAY? That's so so long to be away from home when you're 5 right? ANYWAY, he rocked it!
We had smoothies with our breakfast. Luke is a bottom-less pit so when Rhett offered some of his he jumped on the chance.
We thought we had more time for pictures...but turns out the bus comes WAY earlier this year and we just had enough time for a couple. Here are the boys hurried smiles cause they could hear the bus coming down the road.
Awwwww.
As the bus was leaving Rhett just hugged Jess for so long. He was kinda tender. So either the bus scared him (most probable) or he missed his brothers already (that's totally it prolly :) It was sweet.
When Luke got home he seemed to have forgotten lots of the day--but I asked enough questions to get a good idea anyway--here's his first day of Kindergarten:
The bus was sooo good. I liked it cause Tucker and Kade were on it. I sat in the middle on the way and I got to sit in the back on the way home. I kind of got sick at school, kind of, well, on the bus actually—on the way home—it made my stomach feel kind of sick-ish—cause I was getting homesick. I almost threw up…I didn’t tell Kaden. I don’t know why I felt that way.
The bus ride was Loooooooong. It was a yellow bus, but we’re the ‘blue’ bus—I kind of liked the kids. I think the bus driver is good too. But I forgot the rules on the way home. We have to sit down, not chew gum—not have ANYTHING on the bus, not even us. P.S. just kidding.
A person helped me get to my classroom when we got to school. She told me where to go. I was nervous when I got there, well, I knew it was my first day of school, but was really excited but nervous. The classroom was like a cowboy! Well, I watched “Super Y “when I got there, I was late and bunch of kids were already there. I found where I sat, and there’s even a carpet piece that has my name on it. Then we learned who our teachers were. Mrs. Stokes and Mrs. Rodriguez. Mrs. Rodriguez’ favorite color is blue.
We practiced doing straight lines. It was pretty boring. One kid, he got up from his mat and read books when he wasn’t supposed to. He was the one who didn’t get on bronze. Our title is “go for the gold” and when we are at gold, we get a golden fork, and when we have 24 golden forks we get a golden owl on our bus. Like if your awesome in class, you get to move your clip up…well the teachers do it. Tomorrow, I don’t want you to send a lunch cause I want to have school lunch. Mara got school lunch.
We played a name game. We learned everybody’s name and the things we like to do. I said I like to watch t.v.. A lot of them said games, one said watch his sister play her games. I don’t remember anybody’s name from that. One was Elijah. I want to be friends with Kade in my class, I don’t know why, I just do. I don’t want to be friends with girls.
We went to lunch. “Hips and lips” (he put his finger on his lips and a hand on his hip) and that’s how we walked to the lunchroom. We sat by our buddies at lunch. Those are people that help you get to the lunchroom. Mine was a girl. I didn’t know her name. Oh and Mara was in there too (a friend from church). My favorite part of lunch was the snack size pop tarts mom sent. It was loud in the lunchroom. It was a long time to eat. Not many of the kids talked too much—cause I didn’t know them very well. There was a boy named Kade and he had glasses.
It was so cool to go to the gym and we did hula-hoops and basketballs. It was sooooo cool. I EVEN DID A HULA HOOP. Which I never did before. It was so fun. Other kids were like “wow” and I was like “good job Lucas”.
And mom, a kid in my class, he or she got on in a hoop! That was 100 points! We got 100 points, we got 100 points—ya ya ya. Our teacher told us that when we’re done with one we have to give it to another kid, but one boy didn’t do that. He was really mean. I forgot to tell her.
It wasn’t much like pre-k. For centers we just stayed in the middle and took a nap. It was strange cause everyone was sleeping around me. And I didn’t really even fall asleep. Everyone still had to be really quiet and they turned the lights off. I like naps at home more. Then they turned on the lights. One girl stayed asleep. I thought that was funny.
We just got our stuff and went on the bus. We went to a room to wait for our bus, and we didn’t do anything till they called us to go. Mom, Tucker? He was on the bus with us.
The worst part was that I didn’t get school lunch!
The best part was doing the hula-hoop!
I feel good about school. I want to go back tomorrow.
Kades first day of 2nd grade:
Mrs Jenifer (our bus driver) is very nice. I got to sit in the last seat on the bus on the way home. We’re the first one’s on and one of the last one’s off the bus. I love it. I get to see where everyone lives. It was Luke’s first day of kindergarten today and it was nice to sit by someone who actually knew my personality—but I also sat by Daniel, Tucker—they know me too.
Mrs. Armstrong introduced us to each other, and I knew the person in front and behind me in our line. I sit by 2 girls. I’m the only boy on my table. I think that’s not that nice. I don’t have someone who actually likes pokemon cards or even know what pokemon means.
Most of my best friends moved on to Baker Place Elementary. Well, I know everyone but I don’t really have any good friends yet. We just kind of learned what we do and where we do it.
Lunch was nice. My lunch was awesome!
The best part of the day was knowing that school was going to be a blast that year.
The worst part—they’re wasn’t really one actually. Wait, I know, we had homework on the first day of school. That was it.
At an assembly they had us
listen to Taio Cruz, “Positive”. I liked that song. It was cool. (
I like the part where it says, "I'm going to open up my heart to give, because it's the only way to live.)
School this year is going to be COOL.
